An implant is an artificial tooth root implanted in the bone, to which a new tooth crown is then attached. The implant fully replaces the natural tooth both aesthetically and functionally. With the help of an implant, the dentist is able to rebuild a single deficiency, multiple deficiencies, perform simultaneous extraction of the damaged tooth and replace it (during the same visit) with an implant.
In our clinic, implant placement is preceded by thorough diagnostics, analysis and the creation of a special template in a 3D printer, thanks to which we are able to precisely make and place the implant so that it fits the rest of the dentition. Using a template significantly shortens the healing time and increases the success rate of the procedure without possible complications.
Many patients are concerned about the high costs associated with implantation. However, it is worth realizing that this is a long-term solution that will serve the patient for many, many years, and it may turn out that it is ultimately more beneficial than other temporary options.
Another fact that speaks in favor of implant placement is the fact that leaving one tooth missing has a negative effect on the entire stomatognathic system, which may over time lead to malocclusion or diseases of the temporomandibular joint.
