Until recently, prosthetics was associated only with the replacement of missing teeth - which was most often experienced by the elderly. Today, thanks to technological progress, prosthetics has become a much wider field and also includes aesthetic procedures, thus closely related to orthodontics. In a situation where the patient wants a quick and aesthetic effect instead of wearing the orthodontic appliance for a long time, he may decide to undergo a prosthetic procedure.
It is a type of permanent filling that is used in the treatment of large cavities. If the dentist determines that a regular composite filling will not work - then we can reach for an inlay / onlay, which is perfect as a filling after root canal treatment, and also allows you to perfectly recreate any anatomical structures, e.g. nodules or contact points.
Crown
We use this solution in the case of significant damage to the tooth as a result of caries, but also, for example, as a result of an injury and tooth fracture. A crown allows you to recreate the shape, function and appearance of a natural tooth. In our office, we make zirconium crowns, all-ceramic and ceramic (metal-porcelain) crowns. They different in terms of aesthetics, durability and price. The type of crown is selected by the dentist in consultation with the patient.
Veneer
This treatment is a great way to get a beautiful smile in a short time. Veneers are thin, ceramic plates that are applied to the tooth with a special glue. Veneers give the teeth a new shape and color. The effect obtained is so good that it is difficult to distinguish a veneer from a natural tooth. The procedure is performed when you want to change the color and shape of your teeth, in the case of too small teeth, with large gaps between the teeth, in the case of diastema or a narrow dental arch. In our office, we make both porcelain and composite veneers (bonding).
